Confirmation Hearings

Confirmation hearings are held to confirm or reject a Presidential nomination for various offices in the Executive Branch. Generally, confirmation hearings are scheduled weeks after a nomination, to give the Senate time to collect evidence supporting efforts against confirming a nominee. Cases where an immediate confirmation hearing is required is when a new president is elected and need specific individuals nominated on day one as Required by J.S.C. 4902, Subsection 92.
